AuxD is an out-of-home audience analytics system built around a low-power IoT camera network with on-device face detection, emotion recognition, and demographic analysis. Selected as a finalist in the IoT/M2M Innovation World Cup — with the ceremony held at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Out-of-home advertising and urban planning had no reliable way to measure audience response beyond footfall counts. The opportunity was to combine low-power embedded hardware with machine vision to capture not just who moves through a space — but how they feel about it.
Built entirely as an internal idezo project — from concept to prototype. The work spanned business modeling, custom IoT hardware design, machine vision analysis with OpenCV for emotion and demographics recognition, and a LoRa network for low-power data transport from distributed camera nodes.
The analytics pipeline combined location data with emotional response signals to produce a model of how urban populations actually experience specific locations — not just where they go, but what response those places generate. We also designed and implemented the UX for the analytics dashboard, making the machine learning output interpretable for non-technical stakeholders.
Selected as a finalist in the IoT/M2M Innovation World Cup, with the award ceremony held at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. AuxD demonstrated idezo's model of building from internal R&D toward a commercial product — combining three technology areas the team had focused on through 2016: IoT hardware, machine vision, and machine learning analytics.
